Students interested in graduate study options at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) might just score a scholarship door prize when attending the TAMIU Graduate Studies Open House 2016, scheduled Thursday, Nov. 17 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in Student Center Ballroom 203.

Hosted by the Office of Graduate Studies and Research, the Open House gives potential students an opportunity to explore TAMIU graduate options at a relaxed pace that includes appetizers and refreshments.

“We’re excited to be able to talk with students about our six online programs, our 25 traditional programs and seven graduate certificates.  Today, most programs no longer require the GRE,” said Dr. Jennifer Coronado, Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, “We’ll also be offering scholarship door prizes throughout the event. If students apply that night, we’ll waive the application fee,” Dr. Coronado encouraged.

Among advantages to earning a master’s degree are an increase in salary, career promotion opportunities and the attainment of crucial job skills and knowledge that can distinguish one professionally, she said.

In addition to traditional and online programs, TAMIU offers a flexible entry program during Fall and Spring semesters, which allows for dynamic class scheduling convenient to students.  Some graduate programs can be completed in one year, but average time to completion is two years.
