Take in a free show at the upcoming Texas A&M International University Silent Movie Show Saturday, May 13 at 3 p.m. in the TAMIU Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall. TAMIU organist and assistant professor Dr. Colin Campbell will provide a live improvisation on the Sharkey Corrigan Organ, creating an experience that replicates how silent movies were originally presented with orchestral, or primarily organ accompaniment.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Dr. Campbell will provide the accompaniment for featured film, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” which was released in 1923, directed by Wallace Worsley and stars Lon Chaney as Quasimodo.

The film is based on Victor Hugo’s tragic tale of the deformed bell ringer, Quasimodo, and his love for Esmeralda. The classic film made a star out of Chaney.
