Learn to navigate your smartphone applications and make them work for you with the new Texas A&M International University Continuing Education course, “High Tech Seniors: Learning Technology for Life.”

The course targets those who may not have grown up with mobile devices, and might struggle using and understanding apps.

Course fee is $5 per 1-hour session or $25 for six 1-hour sessions. Class will meet Fridays, Oct. 27 – Dec. 8 from 2 – 3 p.m. in the Student Center.

Participants must provide their own smartphone or tablet.

Registration is available online at enrole.com/tamiu or on-site.

The courses will be taught by High Tech Seniors Mentoring Sessions volunteers.

“Our goal is to help the senior citizens of Laredo navigate through their technology difficulties which might be lacking, and thus helping them stay in closer touch with friends and family,” said Susan Foster, director, TAMIU Continuing Education.

Volunteers will receive a free T-shirt to wear during the mentoring sessions.

There will be a monthly selfie contest for the participants.

The TAMIU Office of Continuing Education offers a variety of courses for self-enrichment, professional development, test preparation and more. For a complete list of course, visit enrole.com/tamiu
