Master Performers Series @ TAMIU Features Percussionist Trevino Nov. 30

Audiences are in for an unforgettable concert at the next installment of the Texas A&M International University Master Performers Series @ TAMIU featuring composer and percussionist Ivan Treviño Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall.

Admission is a minimum scholarship donation of $5/person requested at the door and free for students.

Treviño is an internationally recognized composer, percussionist and rock drummer currently residing in Austin, Texas. His music has been regularly performed around the world and has become the standard repertoire in the field of percussion. He won the Percussive Arts Society’s International Composition Contest and has composed more than 40 works for percussion idiom, many commissioned by leading performers and universities in the field.

He is also a songwriter and percussionist with Break of Reality, an international touring cello and percussion quartet. They have headlined concerts across North America, South America and Asia and named music ambassador for the U.S. State Department in 2015.

Treviño is an active educator and clinician and an artist/clinician for Malletech Instruments and Mllets, Zildjian Cymbals, Evans Drumheads, and Meinl Percussion.

He received a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music from Eastman School of Music.
