The annual Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) “Celebration of Life” memorial to remember fallen alumni, students, faculty and staff is scheduled Tuesday, April 3, 2018 in the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) Recital Hall at 6:30 p.m.

This moving event provides members of the expansive TAMIU community a chance to remember alumni, students, faculty and staff who have passed away in the past year, to celebrate their lives, and to move forward together.

“It is a touching annual service which celebrates and memorializes the lives of people who have been part of our TAMIU family. This year we will recognize 46 honorees including alumni and University staff members,” explained Yelitza Howard, TAMIU’s director of Alumni Relations. Photos of the fallen alumni are displayed during the Ceremony, she noted.

“We are requesting that RSVPs and photos of honorees be submitted by Thursday, March 29,” said Howard.

Special musical performances will be offered by Dr. Colin Campbell, University Organist; Dana Crabtree and the TAMIU Choir, and the Memorial Bells of First United Methodist Church.

After the service, participants will join the TAMIU Choir and walk to the University’s Lamar Bruni Vergara Memorial Garden and sing “Amazing Grace” together.

A reception follows for family and friends on the Student Center Patio.

University representatives will be present to help answer questions on how guests can commemorate their loved ones further at TAMIU, she observed.

For additional information, contact Howard, director of Alumni Relations, at 956.326.4483, email yelitza.howard@tamiu.edu or visit offices in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library, Suite 261.

University office hours are Monday –Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
