TAMIU Senior Student Art Show, “Seventeen Collections” Opens Thursday in CFPA Gallery with Reception

The combined works of 17 Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Seniors will be showcased in a Senior Art Show aptly named “Seventeen Collections,” in TAMIU’s Center for the Fine and Performing Arts’ Gallery, opening Thursday, April 19with a reception from 5 – 7 p.m.

The opening reception and ongoing exhibit is open and free to the public.

Natasha Hovey, assistant professional for the College of Arts and Sciences’ department of Fine and Performing Arts, said the exhibition, which continues through May 3, 2018,  represents a collection of each students’ work from their final semester.

“We are pleased to present our Senior Exhibition ‘Seventeen Collections.’ This exhibition features 2018 graduating Art majors. Seventeen students have each produced a body of work to be displayed using a variety of media including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, clay, design, and illustration,” Hovey said.

Students in the exhibition are Fabiola Barrera, Marina Benavides, Amanda Bustamante, Diego Canales, Eddwin Cantú, Melissa Coronado, Ana González, Jaime González, Violeta Guerrero, Roman Lara, Desiree Martínez, John Peña, Krista Quintanilla, Amy Rios, Berenice Rodríguez, Victor Rosales, and Aileen Sifuentes.
