A&M International Slates ENGL 3301 Exemption Test

Texas A&M International University will administer the ENGL 3301 Exemption Test for Summer 1997 on Saturday, March 22 from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in Bullock Hall room 101.

All transfer students who have taken the equivalent of ENGL 1301 at another institution are required to take ENGL 3301 at A&M International, however students who wish to be exempted from ENGL 3301 can opt to challenge the course by taking the departmental exemption test. Students may take the exemption test only once and only if they have completed their English sophomore sequence and passed all sections of the TASP.

Students who do not pass the test will be required to take ENGL 3301.

Conchita Hickey, Director of the University's Academic Enrichment Center said the March 22 testing will be the only testing for Summer 1997.

"We encourage students to take advantage of this opportunity to exempt themselves from ENGL 3301," she said.

Students need to sign up for the test in advance by calling the Academic Enrichment Center at 326-2134 or visiting the Center offices located in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library-Administration Building, Room 214 East.

A&M International office hours are from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday.
