TAMIU Golf Tournament Set To Tee on Saturday at Country Club
The Texas A&M International University Alumni Golf Tournament will
be held this Saturday, March 27 at the Laredo Country Club. Proceeds support
student scholarships at TAMIU.
The tournament will be played as a two-person scramble event with a
7:30 a.m. tee-time.
The $200 registration fee includes one admission to Vegas Night, which
will be held on Friday night at the Country Club. Vegas Night will feature
Vegas-style games, music, food, bar and prizes.
Imelda Navarro, TAMIU Alumni Association president, said the event is
critical for student scholarships at the University.
"These partnerships and support of golfers for the Tournament are
pivotal to our providing scholarships for our TAMIU students, as over
70% receive some form of financial aid to complete their higher education,"
Navarro said.
Coach Steve Garippa, TAMIU athletic director, concurred, noting the
University looks forward to the annual event.
"Our students, our athletes, our entire campus community is involved
