TAMIU Registration Set at High School Campuses

Laredo high school students will find it even easier to register for admission and courses at Texas A&M International University this Fall.

Representatives from A&M International will be on high school campuses, allowing students to register for classes, learn about financial aid and even schedule for testing.

Students who will be juniors and seniors next year will also be able to sign up for concurrent enrollment, which means they can take classes at the University while still in high school and receive dual credit.

St. Augustine and Nixon have already had on-site registration. The schedule for other Laredo high schools include:

United High School - April 11, 2002 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Cigarroa High School - April 12, 2002 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

United South High School - April 15, 2002 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Alexander High School - April 18, 2002 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Martin High School - Schedule to be announced

Minita Enríquez, executive director of the Office of Enrollment Management, says the program should help smooth the transition from high school to University life for students.

"This program puts everything at their fingertips. They can apply, register, get information about financial aid, receive academic counseling and even schedule testing. All this semester, we've had representatives on high school campuses, available to answer questions. We'll be on campus until the middle of May for follow-up visits," said Enriquez.
