Summer Session I at Texas A&M International University offers students a chance to get ahead on their undergraduate or graduate degree.
Registration is scheduled Friday, May 31 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.in the Registrar's Office, Killam Library 168, for students needing to clear holds and new transfer students.
First-time freshmen and recently applied students should visit the Admissions Office, Killam Library 155, first.
SSI Classes begin June 3 and end July 5. Late registration continues through June 4 only. Long Summer Session Classes also begin June 3 and continue through Aug. 8.
Summer Sessions have traditionally been a time for students of all ages to get ahead on their degree plan, said Maria Rosillo, TAMIU director of admissions.
"Some students wish to get a few courses completed before they enroll here in the Fall. Others who have already been accepted at other institutions or are enrolled elsewhere also find it advantageous to take courses here before transferring. Qualified high school students can also take University courses during the summer," said Rosillo.
"Another large group is students beginning or continuing graduate programs. Local educators traditionally continue their progress on a masters or additional certification in the summer," she noted.
Summer Session II registration is July 8 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.in the Registrar's Office. Classes begin July 9 and end Aug. 10. Late registration continues through July 10 only.
