TAMIU Offers Summer
Camps For Kids, Teens

This summer, you can help improve your child’s reading, thinking and writing skills at Texas A&M International University. Register now for workshops sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences’ department of language and literature. Sessions are available for students in grades 3 – 12.

Workshops include topics such as “The Write Stuff,” “Connections: Critical Thinking, Reading and Writing” and “Heading to College” and will be taught by top University professors.

“The Write Stuff” is open to students in grades 3 – 6 and will meet from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Third grade students will meet from June 5 – 9, fourth grade students from June 12 – 16, fifth graders from June 19 – 23, and sixth graders from June 26 – June 30. Tuition is $150.

Students in grades 7 and 8 may sign up for “Connections.” That workshop will meet from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m., July 10 – 14. Tuition is $195.

Students in grades 9 – 12 can sign up for “Heading to College,” which includes “College Prep Writing” and “Verbal for the New SAT: Critical Reasoning, grammar review and writing.” Students in grades 9 and 10 who sign up for “College Prep Writing” will meet July 17 – 21 and students in grades 11 and 12 will meet July 24 – 28. Both sessions will meet between 8:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. “Verbal for the New SAT” sessions are scheduled for June 19 – 29, from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m., but will meet only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Tuition is $225.

Families who have more than one child attending the workshops are eligible for a $50 discount.
