TAMIU-SBDC Offers Marketing
Plan Workshop Thursday, June 19
A marketing plan workshop will be sponsored by the Texas A&M International University Small Business Development Center (TAMIU-SBDC) Thursday, June 19, 2008.
The “Think like a Marketing Guru Workshop” is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon at the TAMIU Student Center room 120. Workshop fee is $20.
What is a marketing plan and why is it so essential to the success of your business?
Director of the TAMIU-SBDC, Richard Pérez, explained that the marketing plan defines all of the components of your marketing strategy.
“When you write your marketing plan, you will address the details of your market analysis, sales, advertising, and public relations campaigns. The right product or service at the right price is only the beginning. You must identify your audience, promote your product and find the best distribution method,” Pérez said.
He noted that the essence of marketing is to understand your customers' needs and develop a plan that surrounds those needs.
“Let's face it, anyone that has a business has a desire to grow their business. The most effective way to grow and expand your business is by focusing on the marketing plan,” Pérez concluded.
