Register Now to Learn
a Foreign Language at TAMIU

Exercise your brain! Learn Japanese, Mandarin Chinese or Spanish at Texas A&M International University this Fall. Registration is currently underway for foreign language classes offered by the International Language Institute (ILI) in Anthony J. and Georgia A. Pellegrino Hall (PH), room 302. Classes start Aug. 27 and are open to TAMIU students and the public.

Course fee is $409. Books are not included.

Classes are not for credit and University admission is not required.

Register for beginning Japanese I and II, beginning Mandarin Chinese I and II, beginning Spanish I and II.

Classes are held in the evening from 6 – 7:15 p.m. and 7:30 – 8:45 p.m. Beginning Spanish I and II will meet from 1 – 2:15 p.m. or 6 – 7:15 p.m.

All introductory or beginning classes are designed for students with no prior experience. Emphasis will be placed on the development of the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students will have the opportunity to engage in conversations with common, everyday vocabulary and learn about the culture.

The University’s summer hours end Wednesday, Aug. 8, and regular office hours will resume Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 9.
