TAMIU SBDC Offers Seminar on
Creating Compensation and Benefits Program
The Texas A&M International University Small Business Development Center
(TAMIU-SBDC) will provide a targeted Seminar for business owners on how
to create a compensation and benefits program on Tuesday, August 21, 2007
from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. at TAMIU's Western Hemispheric Trade Center, room 125.
Registration fee is $30. Those registering prior to Friday, August 17 receive
a $5 discount.
Employee benefits are a crucial factor in getting quality employees to
work for small businesses. In most cases, the small business owner cannot
afford to offer many benefits. Small business owners can, however, offer
incentives to attract quality employees.
The seminar will be lead by Cynthia
Ruiz from At Work Personnel and will include the following:
- Objectives
of the compensation and benefits program
- Laws affecting compensation
- Laws affecting benefits
- Types of pay structures
- Deferred compensation
- Mandated benefits
- Voluntary benefits
- Summary.
