Japanese Course Set at TAMIU this Fall
Texas A&M International University's International Language Institute
will be expanding this fall, by offering Beginning Japanese I.
Taught by native speaker Sugako Yoshimura Stone, the course is designed
for true beginning students and will start with basic oral and conversational
skills.
Registration for this and other classes at ILI is on-going. Japanese
classes will meet Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. and classes
begin Tuesday, August 24, ending Thursday, December 16. Tuition is $335.
Stone, wife of Dr. Michael Stone, assistant professor in the TAMIU Department
of Fine and Performing Arts, has extensive experience teaching Japanese
in the U.S. and is also a certified teacher of Japanese calligraphy, origami,
ichibana (flower arranging) and kimono instruction.
