Auditions Set for Laredo Theater Guild’s 2009-2010
Season Debut Producation of ‘Man of La Mancha’
The Laredo Theater Guild (LTG) is excited to announce its upcoming auditions at Texas A&M International University for “Man of La Mancha,” the thrilling Broadway musical depicting the iconic Spanish characters Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, and featuring the beloved song classic "The Impossible Dream."
Initiating the University’s 40th Anniversary Celebration, this debut production of the LTG’s launch season at TAMIU also formally inaugurates the University’s 500-seat Theatre in the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts with a Gala Premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009. The production will continue through Sunday, Oct. 18.
The production, directed by José Flores, will feature American Academy of Dramatic Arts’ alumni Joe Arciniega, in the dual role of Don Miguel de Cervantes and Don Quixote, and Raul C. Staggs in the role of Sancho Panza, his faithful sidekick -- reuniting in roles they played together prior to leaving for Los Angeles, Calif., in the late 1970s. Staggs has since repeated his role in a production in Hollywood where he currently resides and is an actor and casting director.
