TAMIU’s Soccer Team
Kicks Off 2007 Season Friday
Texas A&M International University’s women’s soccer team will kick off the 2007 season with games on Friday, Aug. 24 and Monday, Aug. 27. The Dustdevils will play Georgian Court University in a neutral site game at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio on Friday before hosting UT-Brownsville on Monday.
TAMIU is competing as a second year provisional member of the NCAA Division II Heartland Conference while Georgian Court is a full NCAA Division II member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. GCU is located in Lakewood, N.J. UT-Brownsville is a first year program participating in the NAIA-affiliated Red River Athletic Conference.
Friday’s game will kickoff at 4 p.m. and Monday’s contest is slated for a 2 p.m. start. TAMIU’s men’s team will play a scrimmage against UT-Brownsville on Monday at 4 p.m.
Admission to TAMIU soccer is $5 for adults and $3 for students (K-12). Anyone with a TAMIU ID is admitted free of charge.
