International Week of Tibet Coming to TAMIU

International Week of Tibet
Comes to TAMIU

The Architecture of Enlightenment, Making of a Tibetan Mandala (sacred painting), will be at Texas A&M International University Sept. 26 through Oct. 2. The series includes lectures, a film and a concert and will be held at the TAMIU Student Center and in the Centro Cultural in Nuevo Laredo.

All events are free and open to the public.

The events kick off with "A Long Look Homeward," a photo exhibit and a journey through Tibet's history as narrated by 11 members of the Tibetan community in exile who act as the exhibition's curators.

The curators' personal stories are interwoven with the story of their nation and are accompanied by images chosen by them that illustrate those stories, in addition to chronicling the invasion and colonization of Tibet.
