TAMIU Student E-mail
Addresses: It’s Official
Texas A&M International University students are reminded to initiate or update their TAMIU E-mail for Life accounts as these addresses serve as the official communication conduit between the University and the student.
The University is encouraging students to do so at “UConnect,” a designated Web site that will help students to secure their e-mail address at https://students.tamiu.edu/
Dan Jones, TAMIU provost and vice president for academic affairs, said the use of the TAMIU accounts is the most efficient means for students to communicate with the University.
“These e-mail accounts are optimized, free of charge and accessible world-wide. In order for us to effectively communicate with students and vice versa, the TAMIU E-mail for Life addresses have been designated as the University’s preferred student account,” he said.
For example, faculty will communicate with students via this account, as will other student offices. The use of the TAMIU E-mail for Life address is also linked to the new Student Information System, online registration and more.
Of added interest is a forwarding feature for TAMIU E-mail for Life, Jones noted.
“Students can now set a forward e-mail address for their TAMIU E-mail for Life, should they so desire,” he said.
