TAMIU Rec Sports Offers
Aqua Zumba July & August
Join the pool party and get fit!
Texas A&M International University’s Kinesiology, Wellness and Recreational Sports Center (Rec Sports) and Housing and Residential Life offers Aqua Zumba classes this summer.
Classes are open to people of all fitness levels and are held at the Residential Learning Community Mondays at 6:30 p.m. from July 16 – August 20 and Thursdays from July 18 – August 22.
General community fee is $40 and Rec Sports member’s fee is $20.
A Rec Sports membership is not required for Aqua Zumba class participation, but non-members will not be able to access the Rec Sports Center and its facilities after class.
Rec Sports members must have a paid membership for both July and August to qualify for the discounted $20 fee.
Sandra Leal, TAMIU adjunct instructor of dance and director of ballet Folklórico will lead the classes.
Known as the Zumba “pool party,” Aqua Zumba gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting, laughing, hooting and hollering are often heard during the class.
Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends all into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio conditioning, body-toning and most of all, exhilarating, creators say.
