‘Lamps of Atlantis’ Friday

The mystery of the legendary lost continent of Atlantis and its possible connection to constellations will be explored in “Lamps of Atlantis,” a new, full-dome show premiering Friday, March 22, at 6 p.m. at the Texas A&M International University Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium.

The show is open to the public and tickets are $6 for adults, and $5 for children.

A coproduction between Evans and Sutherland’s award-winning Digital Theater Productions and the Eugenides Foundation Planetarium in Athens, Greece, “Lamps of Atlantis” explores the mythology of Atlantis and investigates clues to the origins of the names of modern constellations that may have come from this mysterious civilization.

Narrated by Terry O’Quinn, who played Locke on the hit television show, “Lost,” “Lamps of Atlantis” features full-dome, time-lapse photography from incredible locations around the world including Easter Island, Australia, Egypt, South America And Greece. The show also features stunning computer animations of a number of international locations, the stars and constellations of the night sky.
