TAMIU Theatre Production Class Presents
‘Twelve Angry Jurors’ This Weekend
The long-heralded drama classic “12 Angry Jurors” will be presented by the Texas A&M International University Theatre Production Class, taught by Dr. Gilberto Martínez, March 27-29 at the TAMIU Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Theatre.
Admission is $5 and free to those with current student ID.
Written by Reginald Rose, the play concerns the deliberations of the jury of a homicide trial. At the beginning, they have a nearly unanimous decision of guilty, with a single dissenter of not guilty -- who throughout the play sows a seed of reasonable doubt.
Originally a teleplay, it has been adapted for stage and made into a film starring Henry Fonda. It is considered a classic of both stage and screen.
The production opens Thursday, March 27 at 8 p.m. with subsequent shows
Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29 at 8 p.m. A special final Sunday Matinee will be presented March 30 at 3 p.m. All shows will be presented in the TAMIU Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Theatre.
