TAMIU Forensics Forum Earns 12 Awards
at 2014 Gulf Cost Tournament, Advances

The Texas A &M International University Forensics Forum brought home a total of 12 awards including multiple speaker awards at the 2014 Gulf Coast Tournament last month and will advance to national competition. 

Student Michael Guantos received First Place Speaker, Amanda Rodríguez Third Place Speaker, Albert Soliz, Fifth Place Speaker and Leslie Cortez earned Sixth Place Speaker.

The Texas A &M International University Forensics Forum team brought home a total of 12 awards including multiple speaker awards at the 2014 Gulf Coast Tournament last month and will advance to national competition. Collectively, TAMIU Forensics Forum members received the Per Centum Award, awarded to the team with the highest winning percentage. TAMIU won 70% of all debate rounds within the Tournament.

The TAMIU team hopes to capitalize on its success at Nationals, which take place in Tennessee April 10-13. 

The 2014 Gulf Coast Tournament was hosted by Lee College and College of the Mainland and held in Texas City.  The competition featured universities from across Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas.

The TAMIU Forensics Forum is open to any TAMIU undergraduate student, and no prior experience is required.
