In January of 1995, Mrs. F. M. Canseco presented a significant gift to Texas A&M International University in memory of her husband, Dr. F. M. Canseco, a much-loved Laredo physician who devoted his life to healing countless Laredoans throughout a 55-year-long medical practice. The gift provided the University with the means to fully implement its nursing program. Classroom Building F was re-named the Dr. F. M. Canseco Building, and the nursing program itself is now known as the Dr. F. M. Canseco Nursing Program.
