Steve is a TAMIU "lifer," first joining the University when it was known as Laredo State University in the 80s. As director, he has the pleasure of leading a dedicated team of professionals and artists devoted to telling the University's multi-faceted and ever-dynamic story. He takes fiendish delight in developing communication plans to relay that story to an ever-growing audience.

Ana previously managed the IBC identity program and designed print and electronic media. She holds a BFA in Visual Arts with a specialization in Graphic Design from the University of Nuevo Leon. She also holds an MBA in International Trade from TAMIU and is working on a second MBA in Marketing here. As a student, she interned in the TAMIU Public Affairs office. In addition to being an avid design enthusiast, she is active in the Animal Protective Society and enjoys traveling.

Originally from Laredo, Melissa joined TAMIU after working five years at a television station in Austin, Texas. She also worked as a freelance reporter covering various departments in city government and politics. An active indoor enthusiast, Melissa enjoys sewing, reading and is starting to enjoy knitting. She looks forward to assisting in promoting the University. Melissa graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Journalism and also with an AA from Laredo Community College.

Eduardo was most recently a middle school art teacher for the United Independent School District. He holds a BFA in Fine Arts/Digital Media from the University of Texas at Austin in addition to teacher certification from TAMIU. He has worked as an artist and freelance designer in Texas, Mexico and Illinois and is originally from Laredo. He also helped to organize and present artist exhibitions and multi-media events and is intrigued by the intersections of music and art.

Laura keeps our office running smoothly and has been with the University since 1987, back when we were still downtown and named Laredo State University. Her cheery voice will help you on the phone and her smiling face will greet you in the office. Please see her for all your business card or invitation needs, for assistance filling out our office forms or to check on the status of a project. Laura can also help you make an appointment with the designers or the other office staff.

Danny has been with the University for 5+ years. Originally hired as the first publications coordinator for the Office of Public Affairs, he went on to pursue a career in Computer Information Technology. Upon his return to the University, Danny worked in the CTS department and was given the opportunity to assist the University Webmaster in maintaining the University's web presence. He currently works in the PAIS offices coordinating with assigned University web content managers in providing an accessible, content driven web site for TAMIU.

Together, the PAIS team works to find new and creative ways to present the University's story in award-winning publications, promotional strategies, electronic and print placements and good ol' strategic media relations.
