This summer, a group of nine faculty members and students will be traveling to three Asian countries to conduct research funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Science of Science and Innovation Policy (SciSIP). TAMIU assistant professor of biology, Dr. Keri N. Norman, and two of her biology students, María Martínez and Raúl Ramos, will be part of a 10-week summer research program. Two TAMIU students will spend this summer in research internships at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, and the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD. Summer is on the way. Featured guest artist Dr. Brian Mathias is scheduled to perform in the CFPA Recital Hall at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 14. Also next week, Dr. Eric Tucker, bass-baritone and voice teacher/opera director at Central Michigan University, will present a guest recital Tuesday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall. Registration is underway for the TAMIU professional conference:  “Compliance:  Towards an Ethical Answer,” scheduled April 18-19 at TAMIU’s Student Center. They will represent different countries and debate students from all over the world on a wide range of topics. A Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) assistant professor of Biology, Dr. Ruby A. Ynalvez, has been awarded a Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Norman Hackerman Advanced Research Program (NHARP) Grant totaling $57,853 for a two-year project. Praised for his creative and friendly programming for his performances, Dr. Christopher Marks is the featured organist at the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Organ Recital Series this Sunday, Feb. 17 at 3 p.m. in the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall. Bring the wonders of the universe to your child and he or she might grow up to be a rocket scientist. Registration is currently underway for the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium Spring Space Camp scheduled for Monday, March 11 – Wednesday, March 13.
