Dr. Tammy Lipsey is the District Coordinator of Reading Clinics for the Metro Nashville Public School System. She serves as the liaison for The Tennessee Literacy Partnership, which currently includes six local universities working in the district’s six school–based reading clinics. Dr. Lipsey provides oversight, coordination and training for the project. Dr. Lipsey designed the method and practice presently being utilized in the reading clinics.
Dr. Lipsey holds an Ed.D degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading from Tennessee State University.
Before joining the Metro Nashville Public School System she taught literacy courses at Austin Peay State University, Lipscomb University, and Tennessee State University. She previously served in the Williamson County (TN) School System as the District Language Arts Curriculum Consultant. She has been a reading specialist trainer, professional developer, gifted education consultant, reading specialist, and K-8 classroom teacher. She lives in Franklin, Tennessee.
