The Professional Resource Opportunities for Faculty (PROF) Center and Title V Grants: Sophomore Success and FOSS (Focus on Student Success) are pleased to announce the Service-Learning / Community-Based Undergraduate Research Grant 2015.
The grant is designed to provide faculty with funding to develop a service-learning class or a community-based research course in their field of expertise.
The Service-Learning / Community-Based Undergraduate Research Grant 2015 will fund research materials (books, journals, lab equipment, etc.), data collection materials (survey tools, instruments, computer programs, etc.), and technology equipment for service-learning projects, data collection, or data analysis.
The maximum individual grant award will be $2,000.00. All full-time faculty and instructors are eligible to apply. In order to receive the award, winners must attend the Service-Learning & Community-Based Research Wintermester Seminar scheduled on January 12-14, 2015.
Applicants should submit application and a project description by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 10th, 2015. The project description, no more than 1500 words, should include the following:
a. Topic/theme you would like to explore in your course
b. Possible service-learning class & learning outcomes
c. Potential community organization
d. Significance of project
e. Budget
