Youth FAQ's

  • Is there a waiting area where my children can be while I exercise?

  • Junior Dependents must always be supervised by their family member throughout all areas of the facility. There are designated areas throughout the facility where children can be supervised closely.

  • Why can´t my son/daughter participate in the Weight Room or Cardio Room?

  • As determined by the Campus Police Department and Risk Management Department of Texas A&M International University, Minors (under age 18) are not allowed to participate in these areas due to a high degree of risk and liability associated with these activities in these specific areas.

  • In what areas is my son/daughter allowed to be in?

  • Designated bench areas are located throughout the facility in which you can closely monitor your son/daughter. Your child can be in the Aerobics Room or Gymnasium ONLY if you are present. For the safety of your child, we do not allow children to roam around the facility unattended.

  • What is the fee for my child to enter the facility?

  • If you are a Recreational Sports member, your child can join you in our facility at no cost for the duration of your membership.

  • Am I allowed to drop off my child in the facility while I attend other matters on campus?

  • No. If the Rec. Sports Department discovers a child unattended, we will attempt to contact the child´s parents immediately. If we fail to contact the child´s parents, Campus Police will be contacted.
