2.7.1 The institution offers one or more degree programs based
on at least 60 semester credit
hours or the equivalent at the associate level; at least 120 semester
credit hours or the equivalent at the baccalaureate level; or at least
30
semester credit hours or the equivalent at the post-baccalaureate, graduate,
or professional level. The institution provides a written justification
and rationale for program equivalency.

NARRATIVE/JUSTIFICATION FOR JUDGMENT OF COMPLIANCE
All 50 baccalaureate degrees from
Texas A&M International University
require a minimum of 120 semester credit hours and all twenty-five
masters degrees require a minimum of 30 semester credit hours as per the
2004-2005
Catalog. The
University does not offer degrees at the associate degree level.
In general, each baccalaureate degree is composed of a 42 semester credit hour core curriculum; a major of at least 24 semester credit hours; a minor of at least 18 semester credit hours; and electives or other general requirements totaling at least 120 semester credit hours. Other graduation requirements include a minimum grade point average, a residency requirement and an advanced work requirement.(Catalog
