3.4.5 The institution publishes academic policies that adhere to principles of good educational practice. These are disseminated to students, faculty, and other interested parties through publications that accurately represent the programs and services of the institution. JUDGMENT OF COMPLIANCE Compliance. NARRATIVE/JUSTIFICATION FOR JUDGMENT OF COMPLIANCE The University publishes and disseminates academic policies that adhere to principles of good educational practice to students, faculty, administration, and the general public.Publications are developed through different processes. The University Catalog begins with changes submitted by faculty and approved by curriculum committees at the department, college and University level. Upon the approval of the Provost, these changes are forwarded through additional approval channels, if necessary, such as The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Upon receipt of final approval, these changes are incorporated into the catalog. The Academic Calendar follows the guidelines provided by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Common Calendar Rules and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Common Calendar. The Student Handbook is reviewed and updated periodically under the supervision of the Vice President for Student Affairs while the Faculty Handbook is reviewed and updated periodically under the supervision of the Faculty Senate.
