JUDGMENT OF COMPLIANCE

Compliance.

NARRATIVE/JUSTIFICATION FOR JUDGMENT OF COMPLIANCE

Recruitment materials and presentations accurately represent the University's practices and policies. The process of student recruitment is a University community responsibility, led by the Office of Enrollment Management and School Relations (EMSR), the Office of Admissions, the Office of Financial Aid, and the Office of Public Affairs and Information Services (PAIS).

At the forefront of the recruiting efforts, EMSR works with PAIS to develop recruitment materials that positively influence student choice. Public relations and marketing efforts include print, radio, and TV ads and billboards. All materials for media outlets are produced with guidelines, along with concept and design assistance provided by PAIS. (An Identity Guide to the University’s Graphic and Visual Presence) Through this collaboration, the University communicates the appropriate messages about its academic programs, athletic programs, workshops, trainings, tutorials, and other services. EMSR develops materials that reflect the Institutional Mission. The EMSR staff develops annual oral presentations to meet the changing demands of the community and the University. All presentations are rehearsed and refined to guarantee accurate delivery of the University’s message.

The Office of Admissions provides materials that clearly describe admission requirements, policies and procedures for concurrent high school, undergraduate, transfer, graduate and international students. (Catalog 2004-2005, Division of Student Affairs, Office of Admissions General Policies) The Office of Admissions maintains a web page with this same information and provides forms for admission, legal residency information, verification of finances for international students, as well as informational brochures. The Office of Admissions also maintains a variety of recruitment materials available for public consumption. (SACS Resource Room, Killam Library 334)

Materials provided by the Office of Financial Aid assist students to understand programs and policies related to Financial Aid and associated programs. Information facilitates student participation in financial aid programs. Most information is available online, but advisors in the Office of Financial Aid are available to assist students with the process. (Office of Financial Aid)
