The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) serves the higher education needs of migrant students at Texas A&M International University.  CAMP will support students’ desire to achieve a college education. CAMP is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and adheres to the federal definitions for migrant and seasonal farm work.  To qualify for CAMP, students must meet the admission requirements for Texas A&M International University, be a U.S. citizen or a legal resident.

Students accepted to CAMP receive financial, academic and moral support in their first year of full-time enrollment which builds a solid foundation for a baccalaureate degree. The program will stress acquisition of study skills and learning strategies necessary to succeed in higher education.

Often the first generation in their family to attend college, CAMP students are welcomed to the University by a supportive team dedicated to helping them succeed. Working collaboratively with academic support services across the University, students receive continuous and responsive support. In addition, opportunities for cultural enrichment and community service will be provided.

For more information, contact Mary Treviño (956) 326-3161, Roberto Sanchez (956) 326-2708, Jessica Vasquez (956) 326-3163 or email camp@tamiu.edu

Note: Application for admission to TAMIU should be submitted through Apply Texas available starting August 1st. FAFSA application opens October 1st. ACT/SAT scores should be provided to TAMIU Admissions Office at the earliest opportunity.
