As a member of the AACSB, and one of “
The Princeton Review’s Best 237 Business Schools”, the mission of the Texas A&M International University A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business (SSB) is “... the creation of a learning experience that increases the knowledge, skills, and professional ethics of a new generation of future business leaders who will function in a diverse, global competitive environment.…”
Consistent with the mission, we offer Undergraduate
Business Degrees that allow students to take courses in Accounting, Management Information Systems, International Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Business Law.
Our Master of Business Administration (MBA) program offers specializations in Business Administration (taught in English and Spanish), International Banking, International Trade, Professional Accountancy, International Logistics, and Information Systems.
Our Ph.D. degree of International Business Administration began in Fall 2004 and our first and second cohort students are making good progress. One of them was awarded a Ph.D. degree in International Business at the commencement of 2007.
"International" is in both our University name and our DNA, Laredo is the busiest inland port in the United States, forty percent of all the inland trade between the U.S. and Mexico passes through Laredo. Our business programs are oriented toward not only the domestic aspects of business, but also the international aspects. Many of our faculty members have teaching and research interests related to globalization.
The TAMIU MBA student survey conducted by The Princeton Review praised our faculty as "extremely optimistic" and noted they "honestly care about their students and are always willing to offer a helping hand." To learn more about our faculty, visit the two divisions' Web Sites: for the International Banking and Finance Studies (for Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing, and Business Law) and the International Business and Technonology Studies (for Management and Management Information Systems).
SSB has student and faculty exchange programs with universities in Mexico, China, Latin America, and Europe. If you are interested, please contact the Division of International Programs and/or our student advisors: Ms. Maggie Blasco (for undergraduate students) or Ms. Imelda Lopez (for graduate students). They will also provide information related to innovative and enriching internships, fellowships and scholarship opportunities.
