Admissions to the A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business Ph.D. Program in International Business Administration is through departmental and Ph.D. Program admissions committee.
In compliance with H.B. 1641, the applicant’s entire record will be considered.
The A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business Ph.D. Program in International Business Administration requires all students to begin their program during the Fall semesters.
All admissions documentation must be received by March 31, 2012

Official copies from all college and university transcripts
To be considered official, the transcript(s) must be certified by a University official, have the school seal, and be delivered in a sealed
University envelope directly from the issuing institution(s). Degree must be posted on the transcript.
The essay should state your academic and career goals, objectives, and should also designate one preferred functional area of interest
(Finance, Management & Strategy, Management Information Systems)
Resume must outline applicant’s education, work experience, extra-curricular activities, community involvement, honors and achivements, etc.
Three letters of recommendation
Recommendations must be from persons who are able to evaluate the applicant‘s intellectual capacity for advance study, independent research, analytical thinking
and the potential for effective instruction at the university level
Recent GMAT or GRE test scores
Test scores must be received directly from Educational Testing Services (ETS) and must be dated within five years of applicant's intended semester
of enrollment. TAMIU's institution code is 6838. No admission decision will be made by SSB prior to the receipt of an official GMAT or GRE score.
TOEFL test scores
International applicants whose native language is not English must submit official scores from the Educational Testing Service on the Test of English as a Foreign
Language (TOEFL). A minimum TOEFL score of 600 (250 computerized exam) is required for consideration for admission to the doctoral program; however, an applicant
who has received a graduate degree from an AACSB accredited U.S. institution within two years of the date of application may be exempt from this requirement.
As part of the review of an applicant‘s file, an interview or other additional information may be required. In such cases, the applicant will be notified.
Submission of the application alone does not meet the deadline requirement. Application files will not be evaluated for admission until all of the
required documentation has been submitted.
Application material must be received and processed by the Office of Graduate Studies and Research before files can be forwarded to the A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business’s
Graduate Admissions Committee for review. Applicants are notified of admission decision via letter from the Office of Graduate Studies and Research.
Admission to a degree program is valid for the applicant’s intended semester of enrollment. If the applicant is not able to enroll for the given
semester, the applicant may request a deferment for the subsequent semester.
Students who are officially admitted to the University may register for courses. A registration period is held for each academic semester and for each
summer session. Registration dates are posted on the University’s
Academic Calendar or on the
