  • Instructions for authors

It is decided that the proceedings of the STMC conference will be published, to the extent possible, in uniform format. Therefore, its typesetting is standardized around the LATEX document preparation system.

Authors are requested to submit a computer file of their paper/presentation together with a printed copy. The printed copy is to aid in the editorial/typesetting efforts. The preferred format of the file is the standard LATEX 2e. However, the file in other variations of TEX or text (ASCII) format are quite acceptable. We may also accept, without any warranty, files in popular word processing formats. Please also include the file in text format.

Any figures not in the LATEX or standard graphics formats (PICT, JPEG, GIF) must be provided in camera-ready form.

Authors are requested to make every effort to limit each article to 10 pages of single spaced 10 point type including notes, figures, references, etc. on 8 1/2" by 11" paper. Papers exceeding this limit may have to be reduced due to publication constraints.

    Helpful hint

If you do not have LATEX or have not used it, do not worry too much. If you have typed your paper in a word processor (e.g. MS Word, Wordperfect, etc.) we recommend the following. Not only keep the file in the original word processed format, but also save it as a Rich Text Format (RTF) file as well as a text (TXT) file. Be sure to append the file name appropriately to indicate the format of the file. The RTF file should carry most, if not all, of your formatting structure, and we can transfer it to LATEX with minimal disturbance to your formatting structure. Include all three files on diskette. (You may also send them as attachments to email.)
