TAMIU's 2001 University Life Awards

We all deserve a huge pat on the back, because it was due to the hard work, commitment, and the combined efforts of all of us, that the Student Ambassadors as an organization had a great Wednesday night on April 11th at the University Life Awards.  Overall, we took awards in 3 of the 6 categories:

Felipe Pantoja - Freshman Excellence
Mike Herrera IV - Leader of the Year
Student Ambassador Organization - Outstanding Community Service

The outstanding service award is based on the number of community service hours.  It was announced that this year the Student Ambassadors amassed 783.25 hours; however, this figure does not even count all the time sheets that have yet to be turned in for this semester.  It was all of us who made this happen: officers, committees, members, and sponsors.

We here with the Student Ambassadors would also like to recognize and congratulate past award recipients who have dedicated and contributed much of their time to the organization. Their time and effort put into the organization glimmered above all the other stars in the Ambassadors, but at the same time, by winning their respective awards they proudly reflect the radiance and brilliance their fellow Ambassadors have to offer.
