The Office of Student Affairs and University College have partnered to provide a leadership initiative for students at TAMIU in their sophomore year at the University. Sophomore Leaders Involved in Change will focus on the social change model of leadership to develop projects intended to assist the region, but are capable of producing larger scale projects that can be emulated in other communities.
The program is two semesters in length (September to April) and intended for students ready to make a global impact. The program will culminate in the completion of a social change project which you will be responsible in showcasing to community members at the end of the program.
Students in this program are expected to attend scheduled meetings in order to successfully complete the program and are held every other Monday at 2:00 pm.

Qualifications and Eligibility
Students interested in applying must meet the following guidelines:
- Be enrolled full time for the fall and spring semester
- Have a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or above
- Be considered a sophomore (30-59 hours) at time application is reviewed
- Be a current TAMIU undergraduate full-time student in good standing
- Have a genuine interest in initiating change at the campus, local, regional, national or international level
