Halloween Oksoberfest
TAMIU's Halloween Oksoberfest is one of the oldest annual traditions on campus. Each year, the community is invited to partake in a variety of activities, on the grounds of TAMIU, intended to offer an alternative to this established American tradition. Together with the Campus Activities Board, student organizations come out in droves to offer games, attractions, and food to the hundreds of visitors that visit each year.
Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Each year, TAMIU invites students and the community to witness a one of a kind tradition that illuminates the campus to kick off the holiday season. In addition to offering a variety of activities, visitors are asked to bring gently used blankets, sweaters, and jackets to aid families in the Laredo area through a special partnership with TAMIU Student Government. Visitors are able to enjoy the sights sounds of TAMIU with performances from various choirs in a setting surrounded by wildlife indigenous to the region.
Pre-Exam Jam
As the year winds down, students are invited to a day of fun and games aimed to de-stress before the start of final exams and mark the end of a successful school year. Every year, hundreds of students partake in this annual tradition to wind down and relax, typically held during the month of April. Past activities have included, sumo wrestling, mechanical bull rides, joust, and many other fun filed attractions.
