Title V TTL Grant is funded by the U.S. Department of Education

Community Outreach

The Title V - EEP Community Outreach Program will promote and provide year-round communication to students and parents on the importance of academic preparation in the area of mathematics.

The grant will provide families and community organizations with information and schedules of college readiness initiatives. Additionally, with the support from educational leaders, community business leaders, local youth organizations, and educational groups, the Title V - EEP grant aims to increase educational awareness of the Texas College Readiness Standards (TCRS) among area schools and help advocate for a college-going culture within our community.

Community Outreach Leadership Model

Social support is an essential ingredient in preparing local students in our community for college access and success. Figure 1 below illustrates the different stakeholders and the importance of their role in building a school-family-community connection. The Title V - EEP Community Outreach Program aims to build that connection during the course of the next four years by actively participating in the following activities: professional development workshops; staff development conferences; summer mathematic camps; career fairs; outreach newsletters; technology workshops for parent, students, and faculty; Mathematics Awareness month activities; family education activities; college preparation programs; mathematics and parent partnership activities; community guest speakers; high school to college workshops, and other activities.
