Summer Seminar and Research Grant

Service-Learning Center and Title V Grant: FOSS is pleased to announce the Service-Learning Summer Seminar 2017

The purpose of the seminar is to provide a cohort of TAMIU faculty with the opportunity to explore service-learning pedagogy, engage in a dialogue about experiential education, and provide guidelines to integrate service-learning and community-based research into their curriculum and pedagogy.

The summer seminar will provide foundational information about the principles of service-learning and civic engagement, which fulfill learning goals while addressing university and community needs. The seminar is designed to engage faculty through readings and discussions. Participants will be able to incorporate a community based service-project into a new syllabus or adapt a syllabus for one of their existing courses.
