                Where are they now?
              
            
            
              
                Alex De La Fuente
              
            
            
              After an impressive internship at San Antonio’s
            
            
              Labatt Food Service, the nation’s 10th largest
            
            
              broadline food service distributor, he’s working
            
            
              as a Business Analyst for Labatt with a focus on
            
            
              Latin America.  He’s enjoying San Antonio and
            
            
              his sister is nearby in San Marcos.
            
            
              
                Alex Barrera
              
            
            
              At TAMIU, Alex logged over 35,000 miles in
            
            
              study abroad and service projects. Now, he’s a
            
            
              dental student at the University of Texas Health
            
            
              Science Center in Houston.  He will be part of
            
            
              a group that will travel to Guatemala, providing
            
            
              dental services to needy and deserving patients.
            
            
              
                Melanie Sommerville
              
            
            
              Has relocated to the Austin area, passed her oral exams
            
            
              and is completing her doctoral dissertation.  She’s still a
            
            
              runner and says Austin’s hills are sometimes a challenge.

              graduates helped to “power” TAMIU’s recruitment campaigns. We thought we’d bring you up to speed on their
            
            
              ongoing journeys since leaving TAMIU.
