TAMIU Annual Report 2021

Like a beacon, the entrance pylon to Texas A&M International University signals our resilience. Soaring skyward, basking in the day’s sun, or casting its own glow at night…it remains a welcome harbinger of our essential mission. Resilience also drives our students, like TAMIU Army ROTC members who hosted their first Veterans Day Ruck March honoring all branches of Veterans this November. Community resilience is also exemplified by the Real Men Wear Pink initiative, designed to boost cancer awareness and support. TAMIU retiree Laura Martínez Bogue and Dr. Pablo Arenaz are big champions. And as we look to the future and promise of a New Year, we see continued resilience and optimism in the award-winning photography of TAMIU Communication major Ernesto González. His photo “Boldly Go,” was a second-place prizewinner in the Webb County Heritage Foundation’s 2020 Historic Laredo Photo competition. Happy New Year…Let’s all Boldly Go Beyond! ON THE COVER
