It’s a legacy of guidance. While based in Bethesda, Maryland, Dr. Ortegón serves students in the Washington, D.C. metro area, across the USA, and the world. Ortegón taps into 25+ years of experience in college admissions, enrollment management, academic advising, student retention, student success, continuing education, and international education. The services his firm provides are offered in English and Spanish. He’s had leadership roles from his hometown university, TAMIU, to Montclair State University, Ramapo College, Emerson College, The Washington Center, and American University, where he continues to serve as an adjunct faculty member. Ortegón is committed to empowering students from diverse backgrounds and serves as a board member for More Than Bootstraps, a community of first-generation, underrepresented students who empower each other to access and succeed in higher education. He’s also an advisory board member for the Hispanic Scholarship Consortium. He's a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling and the Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admissions Counseling. "Empowering students to navigate the college admissions journey is a commitment that transcends my experience in higher education. Through GPS College Guidance, we provide personalized support, ensuring success for students and families worldwide; it’s about creating a legacy of empowerment and fostering diversity in education," Dr. Ortegón said. 36
