This
course involves a survey of the types of sentences that provide alternatives
to incarceration of offenders in prisons. We will examine intermediate
punishments such as intensive supervised probation, restitution programs,
house arrest and electronic monitoring as well as explore a variety
of community treatment programs. Prerequisites for CRIJ majors:
Successful completion of the lower-level CRIJ courses (or equivalent
courses) required for the CRIJ major. Prerequisite for non-CRIJ
majors: Junior standing.
