Early
Methods and Management of Diverse Populations
Two semester hours
This
course is intended to assist induction year teachers develop a sound
understanding of ECE-4 Learner-Centered Proficiencies; ethical and
legal aspects of teaching as mandated by TAC rule 230.19; developmentally
appropriate practices, and TEKS implementation. Developing an understanding
of how student diversity affects and influences instruction will
be emphasized. Students must earn a "C" or better to successfully
complete the course. Prerequisite: Admission to the College of Education;
EDCI 5300; this field-based course must
be taken in the Summer semester; enrollment restricted to post-baccalaureate
students admitted in a program leading to teaching licensure.
