Building Modern America (1877-1919)
 
Three semester hours  (FL-Odd)
 
The United States from the end of Reconstruction to the end of World War I when the nation began to emerge as a world power. Emphasis will be given to the growth of modern capitalism and may also include topics such as politics, diplomacy, imperialism, labor, immigration, racial and gender relationships, and rural-urban changes. Prerequisite:  HIST 1301 and HIST 1302.
