| 1To be taken in the first three semesters of student’s graduate work. | ||||||
| 2To be taken for graduate credit only if student has no undergraduate course in Romance Linguistics. If taken for graduate credit, this course will comprise one of the allowable two courses at the 4000 level taken for graduate credit. | ||||||
| 3When topic changes, course may be repeated only once to fulfill the credit requirement in this area | ||||||
| 4Students contemplating doctoral work in Spanish should take six additional hours in Spanish. Minors may be selected from CRIJ/ENGL/HIST/PSCI//PSYC/SOCI. | ||||||
| 5The requirement of reading knowledge of a second Romance Language may be met by completing at least six hours of course work with a grade of B or higher in one Romance language (French and Portuguese are currently available at TAMIU) or by passing a departmental reading exam in one Romance Language. This requirement must be met prior to beginning work on the thesis. | ||||||
