Delinquency and Justice

| As
survey of juvenile offenders and the juvenile justice system. Includes
theories of delinquency, the history of the juvenile courts, and the
operation of the juvenile justice system. Special attention
will be paid to the role of the police, juvenile court practices,
and their legal basis, community-based juvenile programs, and juvenile
institutions. Prerequisites for CRIJ majors: Successful
completion of the lower-level CRIJ courses (or equivalent courses)
required for the CRIJ major. Prerequisite for non-CRIJ majors:
Junior standing. |
