The course can focus on any of the specific areas in the study of the English language, phonology, morphology, syntax, or semantics, or on any specific area of linguistic study—sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, etc.—as it pertains to the study of the English language.  Prerequisite:  Graduate standing.  May be repeated for credit when topic changes.
